Arrival & Departure: Airport Tirana – Airport Dubrovnik

Itinerary of The Best of Albania and Montenegro
Day 1 – Meet and greet and airport pick up
Upon arrival at Tirana International Airport in the afternoon, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver/guide just outside the terminal exit. A comfortable 30-minute transfer will take you to your hotel, conveniently located near the city center of Tirana.
After check-in and some time to refresh, enjoy a relaxing stroll through the vibrant heart of the capital, followed by a delightful welcome dinner to begin your journey in the best possible way.
Day 2 – Apolonia archeological park and Gjirokastra stone city
The ancient ruins of wealth Roman city on the Adriatic coast will provide a fascinating window into the past and immerse yourself in a reach history of the region. Gjirokastra is Unesco world heritage site with its distinctive stone houses and narrow cobbled stone streets. As you walk on the main bazaar you will reach the main castle built in medieval time and concurred from Byzantine empire and later from Ottoman empire. Overnight in Vlorë city on the coast.
Day 3 – Shkodra capital of the North of Albania
After breakfast we’ll take transfer towards northern city of Shkodër. On our way we will stop for a great lunch and tour at organic farm restaurant Mrizi Zanave. Continue towards the capital of the north-Shkodra where you can see the three great rivers become one before they disappear in Adriatic Sea. Rozafa castle from Venetian times overlooking the whole town and magnificent Skadar lake -biggest lake in the Balkan peninsula. Overnight and dinner in Shkodër hotel.
Day 4 – Shkodra sightseeing
After breakfast, we begin our exploration of Shkodër with a visit to the fascinating Marubi National Museum of Photography, home to a remarkable collection capturing centuries of Albanian history. We’ll then enjoy a pleasant walk along the lively pedestrian street (Pedonalja), the heart of the city’s social life, before visiting the impressive Catholic Cathedral.
Our day continues with a short drive to the beautiful 19th-century Ura e Mesit bridge, a stunning example of Ottoman architecture set in picturesque surroundings. Along the way, we’ll discover other charming highlights of this historic northern city. Overnight in a hotel in Shkodër.
Day 5 – Arrival in Montenegro and continuation of the journey
After concluding your Albanian adventure, you will be transferred from Podgorica to the charming mountain town of Kolašin.
Upon arrival in Podgorica, enjoy a delicious lunch at the well-regarded Restaurant Lanterna, where local flavors and fresh ingredients create a memorable dining experience.
Continue your journey to Kolašin, where dinner awaits at the cozy Sherpas Restaurant, featuring a thoughtfully prepared set menu that highlights regional specialties.
Relax and unwind overnight in comfortable twin rooms at the 4-star Hotel Pini, with convenient bed and breakfast accommodations in modern apartments, perfectly suited for your comfort.
Day 6 – Tara River Rafting – A High Adrenaline Adventure
After breakfast at the hotel, we head towards the stunning Biogradska Gora National Park, renowned for its crystal-clear lake, and diverse wildlife. This peaceful natural sanctuary offers breathtaking scenery and a perfect escape into the heart of Montenegro’s wilderness.
Next, prepare for an exhilarating rafting adventure on the Tara River, famous for its emerald waters and spectacular canyon views. The rafting trip includes a delicious riverside lunch, allowing you to refuel amidst nature’s beauty.
In the evening, enjoy a delightful dinner at the charming Vodenica restaurant, known for its authentic Montenegrin cuisine and cozy atmosphere. After dinner, return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest and overnight stay.
Day 7 – Magnificent Skadar Lake boat tour
On Day 7, after breakfast, we will set out to explore the magnificent Skadar Lake National Park, the largest freshwater lake in the Balkans and a true haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers.
Enjoy a relaxing boat tour across the serene waters of the lake, taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, hidden coves, and traditional fishing villages. This peaceful cruise offers plenty of opportunities to spot rare wildlife and immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of Montenegro’s natural gem.
We return to hotel to unwind and look back on what has been a beautiful day.
Day 8 – The Jewels of the Bay of Kotor
After breakfast, we set off on a full-day boat tour through the Bay of Kotor, exploring UNESCO-listed towns and coastal treasures. In Kotor, discover medieval walls and hidden alleys. Cruise to Herceg Novi, Perast and Risan, and visit the stunning Our Lady of the Rocks island. Later, swim in the Blue Cave, famous for its glowing turquoise water, then explore the mysterious Island of Mamula. We enjoy lunch in Perast, surrounded by stone palaces and sea views. In the evening, we arrive in Tivat and stroll through glamorous Porto Montenegro, before having dinner by the sea – a relaxing end to a rich day.
Day 9 – Royal Heights & Farewell Moments
We begin with breakfast before heading into Montenegro’s historical soul, Cetinje, the Old royal capital nestled beneath Mount Lovćen. Learn about the country’s royal legacy and national pride. After lunch in the traditional village of Njeguši, known for its prosciutto and cheese, we embark on a Jeep Safari tour across Lovćen, soaking in dramatic mountain vistas. In the afternoon, ride the Lovćen–Kotor cable car, descending with panoramic views of the Bay below.
Day 10 – Check out and departure
On the final day, after breakfast at the hotel, we check out and set off on our journey towards Dubrovnik. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a brief visit to the stunning Old Town, taking in its historic streets, iconic city walls, and charming squares.
This is the perfect opportunity to capture a few last memories and soak up the unique atmosphere of this Adriatic gem. After the tour, we bid farewell to the group as the trip concludes in Dubrovnik.
