This 13-day journey will take you on an epic odyssey through two of the most fascinating states of southern India. You’ll be enchanted by the French flavors of Pondicherry and the grand temple complex at Madurai in Tamil Nadu, the lush natural world of Periyar, and the traditional culture of the backwaters of Kerala.

This diverse and comprehensive trip across the cultural and historical landscapes of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala encompasses some of the country’s most authentic cultural experiences and offers a very different experience from that of the north. Tamil culture, first-hand, and enjoy the stunning beauty of the Western Ghats and the Malabar Coast. We will also visit the historic splendours of Madurai and Cochin, and explore the majestic landscapes of the Backwaters in Kerala.
Day 01: Arrival Chennai – Mahabalipuram by surface
Arrive at Chennai Airport, meet your representative, and transfer to Mahabalipuram. Check in, relax, and spend the rest of the day at leisure by the beach. Overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.
Day 02: Mahabalipuram Sightseeing.
Drive to Pondicherry, visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Bharathi Park, and Manakula Vinayagar Temple, explore the French Quarter, and enjoy an evening by the Promenade. Overnight stay in Pondicherry.
Day 04: Pondicherry – Kumbakonam by surface.
Early drive to Kumbakonam with temple visit en route to Nataraj Temple. Check into the hotel and evening temple visit the Adi Kumbeswarar Temple and market stroll. Overnight stay in Kumbakonam.
Day 05: Kumbakonam Sightseeing.
Full day Kumbakonam sightseeing, including temples, Mahamaham Tank, and local shopping. Overnight stay in Kumbakonam.
Day 06: Kumbakonam – Trichy by surface
Drive to Tiruchirappalli, visit major temples, and spend the evening at leisure or shopping. Overnight stay in Trichy.
Day 07: Trichy – Madurai by surface.
Drive to Madurai, visit Meenakshi Amman Temple, and attend the evening Aarti ceremony. Overnight stay in Madurai.
Day 08: Madurai Local Sightseeing.
Full day Madurai sightseeing, visit Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace, Gandhi Memorial Museum, and Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam. Overnight stay in Madurai.
Day 09: Madurai – Periyar by surface.
